Class Descriptions

Below you will find a list of class descriptions – all classes are suitable for every fitness level as Instructors will offer alternatives

50+ Fitness – This class includes a variety of aerobic and conditioning exercises, to benefit all round fitness, especially designed for more senior members

Body Bar Pilates – A class with the optional use of a body bar, to increase core muscle strength and tone, postural control and flexibility

Body Blitz – A class concentrating on toning exercises for total body conditioning workout

Box Fit – A stress busting, fun energetic boxing workout

Burn – fun and energising Bootcamp-type exercises, to challenge your whole body, can you hack it?

Chair Fit – A class suited to those with a physical impairment that require exercises in a sitting position and those who find strenuous exercise too demanding

Complete Conditioning – After a lively warm-up, a class concentrating on toning exercises for total body conditioning

Core Cardio – This class uses exercises and techniques to provide an excellent all round, cardio and conditioning workout

Core HIIT – A high energy and core focused class, suitable for all. Short bursts of exercise, with an emphasis on the abs.)

Getlow – Getlow by Junglebody is music, movement and wellness for everyone! A low impact workout, with easy-to-follow format, using dance and boxing moves, with optional use of dumbbells for light cardio. Seriously good music, for a great fitness experience!

Group Cycle

  • Rhythm – working to the beat of the music, with a variety of resistance
  • Interval – mixing up slower, heavy pace work, with shorter intervals of speed
  • HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training; bursts of energy followed by active recovery
  • Endurance – Test your endurance and stamina with this non-stop workout including hill climbs and sprints

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) – Concentrated bursts of cardio exercises for intense calorie burn followed by recovery periods to achieve optimum results

Hydro Power A group exercise which takes place in the swimming pool and is suitable for all fitness levels. With lively music, easy to follow instructions and optional use of water dumbbells and mitts, this is a great ‘no-impact’ workout for everyone

Kettlebells – An exciting physical class using Ketllebells for an all over body work -out

Konga – An easy-to-follow, high intensity fusion of Boxing, Cardio, Dance & Sculpting set to the hottest beats from all decades

Mindfulness – The word ‘mindfulness’ is a term used to describe a method of thinking and noticing thought itself. This class introduces many facets of mindfulness, including meditation, relaxation, self-observation and lifestyle issues

MS Chairfit – A friendly, social group, including a gentle chair-based workout for those who have MS. Participants are asked for a £2.60 donation which is payable at reception, that goes directly to the MS Society

Pilates – Pilates seeks to increase strength, flexibility and control of the body, concentrating on core (torso) muscles and breathing. A gentle form of exercise concentrating both body and mind

Power HIIT – The ultimate cardio and strength work out, not for the faint -hearted

Power Ignite – This fast paced EMOM (every minute on the minute) workout will challenge you to do a specific amount of reps at the top of every minute. The faster you finish, the more rest you get!

Step and Condition – A lively step workout, with toning exercises and abs, for great all-round results

Tabata – Tabata is a form of HIIT training working in 4 minute sets, working intensely for 20 seconds with only 10 seconds of rest 8 times. Combining up and lower body exercises to get your cardiovascular system working while strengthening the muscles at the same time

Tums & Bums – After a lively warm up, toning exercises to concentrate on those problem areas!

Yoga– Performing Yoga poses and breathing techniques concentrates on improving circulation and stimulating the internal organs which can result in better general health. Working on flexibility and relaxation, Yoga is suitable for all levels of fitness
